How to dilute car exhaust?

At the rear of the engine:

Gasoline engine uses a three-way catalytic converter. When the high-temperature automobile exhaust passes through the purification device, the purifying agent in the three-way catalytic converter will enhance the activities of the three gases CO, HC and NOx, and cause it to undergo a certain oxidation-reduction chemical reaction, in which CO is oxidized at a high temperature to become Color, non-toxic carbon dioxide gas; HC compounds are oxidized to water (H20) and carbon dioxide at high temperatures; NOx is reduced to nitrogen and oxygen. The three harmful gases become harmless gases, allowing the car exhaust to be purified.

The diesel engine adopts the selective catalytic reduction technology SCR and the particle trap DPF. The selective catalytic reduction technology (SCR) is a treatment process for NOx in diesel exhaust emissions, that is, under the action of the catalyst, the reducing agent ammonia is injected or Urea reduces NOx in the exhaust gas to N2 and H2O.

Untreated diesel exhaust is highly carcinogenic and as terrible as asbestos and arsenic. Therefore, the purification requirements for it are more stringent, and the diesel vehicles have more parts. Exhaust particles require a particulate trap - DPF(Diesel Particulate Filter), which is a ceramic filter installed in the diesel engine exhaust system, and it captures particulate matter before it enters the atmosphere.

The method of reducing exhaust gas mainly includes combustion optimization, improving the thermal efficiency of the engine, improving the combustion condition in the engine, and fully burning the fuel.

DPF(Diesel Particulate Filter) can reduce the amount of soot produced by diesel engines by more than 90%. The captured particulate matter is then burned out during the operation of the vehicle.

The basic principle of its work is: such as diesel particulate filter sprayed with metal platinum, ruthenium, palladium, diesel engine exhausted black smoke containing carbon particles, through a special pipeline into the engine exhaust particulate trap, after the bag filter is densely arranged inside, the soot particles are adsorbed on the filter made of metal fiber felt; when the adsorption amount of the particles reaches a certain level, the burner at the tail end is automatically ignited and burned, and the soot particles adsorbed thereon are burned off, and the carbon dioxide which is harmless to the human body is discharged.
